Ron De Jesus

FOUNDER + CEO

Since 2005, Ron has been delivering strategic privacy advice. He began his career consulting to healthcare and government agencies across Canada, then later helped establish the privacy practices of Deloitte and PwC in San Francisco and New York. After spending his early career in an advisory role, serving large clients in the tech, pharma, retail, telecom, entertainment, and education industries, Ron went in-house, creating, operationalizing, and managing his own global privacy programs at American Express, Coach, Tapestry, Tinder, and Match Group.

Most recently Ron served in the role of Chief Privacy Officer and Data Protection Officer at Grindr, the world’s largest social networking app for gay, bi, trans, and queer people.

In March 2024, Ron became the industry’s first ever Field Chief Privacy Officer and currently serves in this role for Transcend, a leading privacy compliance and AI governance platform.

Ron has volunteered extensively with the International Association for Privacy Professionals, formerly serving as co-lead of the IAPP’s inaugural Diversity in Privacy Advisory Board, co-author of the official Certified Information Privacy Manager textbook, co-chair or the CIPT Exam Development Board, co-chair of the IAPP KnowledgeNets in LA and New York. Ron is also former IAPP faculty and is a regular contributor to the IAPP Daily Dashboard and Privacy Advisor.

As co-chair of the LGBTQ Privacy & Tech Network, a global group of gay privacy professionals (and allies), Ron has led fundraising efforts through conference networking events known as “LGBTQ + Allies After Parties,” which have raised over $500K for gay youth organizations across the U.S. 

Outside of work, Ron enjoys pilates and yoga, being a dog dad, and baking birthday cakes.

KRIsty Sawyer

PRIVACY SPECIALIST

With over 15 years of privacy experience, Kristy brings broad global legal expertise to our clients. Kristy specializes in creating and operationalizing scalable privacy programs, privacy assessments, compliance training, privacy policy and procedure development, and implementing full individual rights management procedures.

Prior to joining De Jesus Consulting, Kristy worked at the Department of Homeland Security where she served as its Verification and Biometrics Division Privacy Officer. She played a critical role in the negotiation and development of information sharing arrangements with domestic and foreign partners ensuring compliance with domestic and foreign laws.

Kristy has a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from George Washington University, and is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Ohio.

She has three beautiful children who keep her on her toes, and considers herself an unsuccessful backyard gardener.
